Understanding and predicting behaviours
The key to PCM’s power is that it’s based on skills, not rules. It will help you understand where people are coming from. You’ll discover how to observe and decode their behaviour, recognise when they are uncomfortable and tailor your communication to the moment.
People are different
In our private lives, we readily acknowledge that we are all different. Yet in our professional lives, we expect everyone to react in the same way. We totally ignore the differences in our people, creating an environment where conflict is almost inevitable.
Adapting your behaviour
When you look into these conflicts, a breakdown in communication is usually the cause. Understanding your team members, their needs, their frames of reference and their distress signals is the next step. Then you can adapt your own behaviour to build effective rapport, motivate each individual and win their cooperation. This is what PCM is all about.
